More Mediatecture Plugged/Unplugged

Gang,

awfully quiet on this blog — hopefully you're just busy figuring out your interventions.
Here is more inspirational material:

Mediatecture unplugged

Gang,

think of Mediatecture as animated interventions — but not necessary electronic.
To support this point here's the link to a fascinating piece conceived by MDP student Jiyeon Song:

MOV FILE & SKETCHES

Dear all,

Hope saturday is treating you well,
Just spoke with Nik and briefed in on what we talked about last class, to keep things flowing and bring him in to our discussion could you please post:

- a brief description / blurb of the ideas you've been exploring (concepts, sketches, thoughts; can be scans or pics of the printouts you posted, anything that explains what you have in mind)
- ideas on materials, use of sound & light

also,
can someone post the mov file online, or here? i image its almost a gig, but often some tech-savvy person has ways around this...

one point that nik and i were discussing is the notion of mediatecture, in response to some of your questions last week, what is mediatecture? some of you are playing with sculptural aspects, (i.e. making media physical) some more directly with light; what we'd like to emphasize is this parameter: mediatecture is animated, not static... so in line with this, consider how use of light & sound are inherent and essential components to such 'animation' (think of passage of time as well and how it affects space & its perception)

as side note: animation derives from the word anima, which means spirit...or shall we say a form of virtuality....

thank you!

nb: if for any reason you have problems posting let me know
