for next week

Dear all,

Great work today, thank you
I'm excited to see where you take it from now / don't forget sounds as a part of your project

For next week let's do the following, since it'll be blog critique week:

++++++++++++++++++
—please post your presentation on the blog as a keynote movie
and
—send us a pdf via 'yousendit'

++++++++++++++++++

due next week: design presentation 01 (narrative / execution / budget)

claim:
write an introductory paragraph that outlines the intent of your project (what it sets out to do)

argument:
develop your claim outlining how your project accomplishes what it sets forth
— here is where you look at all parts of the process and articulate their position in the narrative structure & their aesthetic execution
(aesthetic here referring to modes of perception and behaviour in relation to form rather than just 'sugar coating'.
Position referring to this component's 'taking-place', that is: its location / temporality / behaviour / duration / rhythm / movement / mutation etc

— articulate what makes this project relevant and suitable for art center and its graduation ceremony
(here is where you speak of sustainability of investment, particularly relevant money-wise for those of you who are proposing permanent interventions.
note: this discussion not limited to money but must address 'investment' as far as innovation, value, time and effort)

++++++++++++++++++

design: narrative execution
— present design executions for all component of narrative, in sequence

—maquette:
- refine as per today's critique, take pictures and use these for your presentation, explore every POV in relation to your structure and its relation to the bridge & surroundings
Take this opportunity to play with your media projections, lighting situations and camera angles (i.e., degrees of proximity: macro shots, medium shots / documentation pics: top view shot, side view / video narrative etc. Integrate media as building block of responsive organism

media:
- as stated above, executed comps of all components, placed or composited into your model, to scale.
- actual media sketches: if video for instance, include a short clip of your piece (depends on how big the file is) or post separately.

any questions welcome
look forward to your beautiful work

thank you
carolina

nb: please post pics / ideas for nik from today's class !
